Recipe: Whisky Sour
I’m celebrating 2000 followers on Instagram this week. My 2000th follower, @whiskybrothers, threw up a challenge and asked me to make them a special cocktail. I thought it was an outstanding idea!
So given they’re obvious first choice in spirit, it must be whisky based. And they seem like classic kind of guys, so what better than a whisky sour – plus it’s in keeping with my new autumn theme!
The Whisky Brothers Sour
- 60ml whisky
- 30ml fresh lemon juice
- 15ml sugar syrup (see note)
- 1 egg white
- Garnish: dash bitters, slice of orange and maraschino cherry
Note: to make sugar syrup, add ½ cup caster sugar to ¼ cup boiling water, stir til dissolved and cool
Add all ingredients to shaker. Seal tightly and (dry) shake vigorously to emulsify egg white. Add ice cubes, seal tightly and shake again. Strain into short glass. Garnish.
