Recipe: Hot Toddy

It might be Spring already, but there are some ghastly bugs getting around. I’ve been struck down with a horrid case of something this week. Any normal person would think that were a complete disaster, but not me. It means that I finally have an excuse for my favourite remedy, a Hot Toddy…or plural…daily…
Let me explain the health benefits.
Lemon: an antiseptic that is also a rich source of Vitamin C, builds up the antibodies and immune system, and helps the body process toxins.
Honey: an antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory that suppresses coughs and soothes sore throats, plus increases serotonin to improve the mood.
Cinnamon: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-fungal and antibacterial, it’s particularly effective in treating respiratory infections.
Cloves: an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant immune booster and pain reliever that kills oral diseases and cures headaches.
Whiskey: fights off colds & flu, illnesses, and infections with antibacterial and antioxidant properties, plus trace levels of vitamins that stimulate the immune system. True story!
