Recipe: The Gingerbread Man
Christmas Day. The cheeriest, most festive day of the year. A day where everyone is on holiday, celebrating with friends and loved ones, drinking and eating more than their fill.
There was a time when it was all about the pudding at Christmas lunch, but come 2014 and pudding is out, gingerbread is in. According to Google Australia, if you live in Melbourne you’ll be stuffing your face with gingerbread today, given it was the most searched recipe term in Victoria leading up to Christmas.
So for the love of ginger this December, here’s a cocktail to wash down all those gingerbread houses and cookies.
- 15ml Vanilla Vodka
- 15ml Dark Rum
- 15ml Ginger Syrup
- 15ml Butterscotch Schnapps
- Ginger Beer
- Ginger Ale
Add vodka, rum, ginger syrup and schnapps to shaker with ice. Shake well to chill. Add a block of ice to a glass, 1 part mix, 1 part ginger ale and 1 part ginger beer.
Serve with a side of gingerbread cookies.
