Recipe: Cool as a Cucumber

Cool as a Cucumber
Guys, this week I discovered a 100% Australian-made & owned organic spirit, called Small Mouth Vodka.
Fascinated by the integration of the organic movement into spirits, I’m very excited that an Australian company is also innovating in this way.
To top it off, Small Mouth Vodka is 100% free of preservatives, artificial additives, colours and flavours. It is also handcrafted in limited quantities using copper pot stills and a 9 times distillation process and charcoal filtered 3 times.
The result is a crystal clear, clean vodka with subtle citrus notes and a mildly peppery finish that is absolutely perfect for drinking neat and making all kinds of cocktails.
So much good news!
Hump Day Happy Hour!
I thought that the Small Mouth Vodka might work really well as a savoury cocktail, so I did a little experiment and came up with this recipe. But I warn you, it’s outrageously delicious and I just cant stop drinking them.
Ingredients
- 60 ml Small Mouth Vodka
- ½ cup cucumber – peeled and cubed
- ½ cup coriander
- 1 lime – quartered
- 15 ml agave syrup
- 2-3 jalapenos slices – depending on personal taste for spicy
- Garnish: long slice of cucumber and sprigs of coriander
Method
Add cucumber, coriander and lime to cocktail shaker. Muddle. Add ice, vodka, agave syrup and jalapenos to shaker. Seal tightly. Shake well.
Strain into short glass over ice cubes. Top with crushed ice. Garnish.
Cheers!
Note: you can get your hands on a bottle of Small Mouth Vodka through Nick’s Wine Merchants online store.
