Recipe: Classic Dirty Vodka Martini

Dirty Vodka Martini
It may be a classic, but for such a simple cocktail, the martini is certainly a fickle mistress. Just the slightest adjustments can change the composition of this cocktail dramatically. It must be made to taste. Some like it a little bit dirty, some like it really dirty (and some like it dry like me)! If you prefer a dirty vodka martini you should like this recipe and method, but if not try my Classic Dry Vodka Martini instead.
Ingredients
- 45ml vodka
- 15ml Bianco (dry vermouth)
- 30ml olive juice (how dirty do you like it?)
- 3 green olives
Method
Pour vodka, vermouth and olive juice into a cocktail mixer, add ice cubes, seal tightly and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Thread olives onto a cocktail pick and add as garnish.
Note: to chill the glass, fill with ice cubes and stand until ready to serve, then tip out ice cubes and gently wipe glass with a clean dry cloth.
